7 Day Home Declutter Challenge
Are you tired of clearing away the clutter and junk only to find your Windsor home messy again? If yes, then you are not alone. Organizing things in the house can be a challenge and finding the time to do it is a bigger challenge. This is a guide to a 7 day home declutter challenge to clean up your home in Windsor, Ontario.
- Day 1: The bedroom
To get a good night’s sleep, you should start with the bedroom. Discard promotional t-shirts, unmatched socks, stained sheets, old clothes that you won’t wear, broken or incomplete jewelry, shoes that do not fit you well and more.
- Day 2: The kitchen
Get rid of the appliances that you no longer use. Look for things like expired food and spices, junk mail, coupons, chipped cups and bowls, containers without lids, pots that you do not use, old leftovers, moldy sponge and kitchen towels, stained apron, and broken appliances.
- Day 3: The bathroom.
Throw out ripper towels, expired grooming products, molded curtains, stained robes, perfumes you do not use, expired medicines, and dirty wash clothes.
- Day 4: The office
Stack up old newspapers, documents, files and papers that you do not need anymore. Discard pens, and pencils that do not work. Throw out random or broken electrical cords, old calendars, expired coupons, age old post-it notes, magazines, and junk mail. Keep your desk clean and organized.
- Day 5: The living room
Get rid of the clutter which is unnecessary like broken furniture, TV remotes that do not work, comfortable cushions, unmatching pillow covers, stained rugs, decor items which no longer complement the interior, and excessive blankets.
- Day 6: Children’s rooms
Check underneath the bed because that is where your kids store their junk like broken toys, old posters, shoes that do not fit, pencils and markers with caps, and damaged board games.
- Day 7: The basement and garage
Take the help of a friend or your family members because these areas will tire you out. Discard trash cans, old paint cans, broken or rusty tools, mementos that have no value anymore, dirty rags, extra chairs and stools, vases, unused flower pots, random cords, and plugs.
After the declutter week, hold a hard sale or garage sale or donate the items that are in good shape but are useless for you. Involve your family and start the challenge to get a sparkling home in Windsor.
